Requirements gathering is an essential part of any project and project management. Understanding fully what a project will deliver is critical to its success. Requirements gathering sounds like common sense, but surprisingly, it's an area that is given far too little attention. We don't assume that we know what the customer wants but create a clear, concise and thorough requirements document after understanding of the requirements alongside the customer and make sure requirements are SMART - specific, measurable, agreed upon, realistic and time-based.

The process is not as straightforward as just asking the stakeholders what they want the system to do, as in many cases, they are not aware of all the possibilities that exist and may be limited by their immersion in the current state. For example, asking people in the 19th Century for their requirements for a self-propelled vehicle, would have just resulted in the specification for a faster horse-drawn carriage rather than an automobile. Beware the old adage, "it's everything I asked for, but not what I need". We conduct interviews, questionnaires, user observation, workshops and brainstorming sessions to clarify and refine requirements prior starting development.

Seeing is believing, clarity of what is going to be developed gives confidence to both parties and eliminate surprizing factor, wireframe was originally used as a term standing for a manikin made of wire, with help of which garments can be designed according to given shapes and sizes. It’s similar with today’s software and web design: A wireframe is the basic framework in software development and web design. At early stage, the aim is to determine the structure of a planned software and to test its functionality. This step has significance in the design process. The term mockup is often used as a synonym of wireframe. However, this expression means an optically refined model, which already shows a version of desired design.
